A book is a quick and easy gift to pick up for Father’s Day, and to make it more personal, this is a homemade bookmark to go with it.
I use a foam piece (you can buy a pack at the dollar store) cut into a strip. The children can decorate it with whatever supplies that you have on hand. Some ideas are:
- bingo dabbers
- markers
- pastels
- stickers
- foam shapes
Commercial bookmarks usually have a “tassle” to hang out and make it easier to find — I use a hole-punch on the bottom and lace a piece of ribbon through it (see picture).
This gift/craft combo is quick and easy for you, and the children like it because they can add their personal heartfelt message to it.
