Non-Profit Associations Law

In accordance with the provisions of District Decrees 619 of 2013 and 133 of 2016, as of February 2, 2017 the District Secretariat of Culture, Recreation and Sports assumed the competence of inspection, surveillance and control of non-profit entities for cultural purposes.

It is a legal entity capable of exercising rights and contracting civil obligations and of being represented judicially and extrajudicially in which the absence of the capitalist concept of remuneration of investment, profit motive is denoted, therefore, there is no distribution of surpluses or profits obtained by the entity in favor of any natural or legal person, the surpluses obtained by an organization of this type at the end of each fiscal year must be reinvested in its corporate purpose.
