Animal Crossing: New Horizons Neighborhood Houses
If you are new to these games, you will quickly discover that there are many things you can spend your time doing. You may have lots of ideas about how you want to grow and improve your island, but you don’t know what to do to get there.
Eventually, you will find a routine that works for you if you play every day. However, there are some important things you’ll want to keep in mind at the beginning of Animal Crossing: New Horizons to really get you rolling.
The premise of Animal Crossing is pretty simple: you can do activities to earn bells (the in-game currency), which can be used to upgrade your house and island. You live with other villagers who come and go, and there are stores where you can spend your bells on things like furniture or clothes.
Most activities to earn bells include trapping and collecting animals or plants. You can also take them to a museum in the game to preserve your collection. There are a multitude of other activities in the game that you will come across, but when you first start, you will really want to focus on what will help you earn bells.
Animal crossing fees
Turnips automatically spoil at 6:00 (5:00 in New Horizons) on the Sunday after they were purchased, and are then worthless. Changing the time and date of the game will also cause them to spoil, hence Juana’s warning that turnips “are very sensitive to time paradoxes”. However, there are known bugs and manipulations in Animal Crossing series that prevent turnips from rotting for long periods of time, for example, by changing the time backwards, although this does not work from New Leaf onwards.
Spoiled turnips can be placed on the ground to attract ants, cockroaches (NGC) and flies, so spoiled turnips do have a use. However, like other “junk” items, when sold to Paca, he will charge a fee to remove them of 400 berries (sometimes 500 berries).
White turnips are sold through the turnip market, an in-game parody of the real-life stock market. In most games, Tom Nook is the middleman in the turnip market, but in New Leaf he is replaced by Paca, and in New Horizons they are replaced by Tendo and Nendo.

You can now board the plane. You will be presented with a video presentation of Nook Inc and land on the island. It is at this point that you will discover the two inhabitants that will be with you on the island, as well as your initial fruit. If you don’t like it, it’s time to restart the game! Below, you will find a guide to reset the game and a guide to learn how to earn as many berries as possible, so you can pay as soon as possible to the villain of this game: Tom Nook.
Talk to Tendo and Nendo to get your initial store. Once you have the store, you can explore the deserted island to find the best location. Simply press X to open the inventory and place the store on the ground. For the occasion, Tendo and Nendo will give you a card. Since you can’t cross the rivers right away, you are still limited to a specific area to set up the tent.
The same goes for the large facilities, which can be repositioned simply by talking to Tom Nook in the Management Office. In fact, you shouldn’t even worry too much about your appearance, as you can change your appearance or your character’s gender at any time once you buy or build a mirror. In this new Animal Crossing you shouldn’t worry too much about the shape of your island either in case it turns out not to your liking. Terraforming comes after quite some time on the island, but once active it will allow you to change the cliffs or redirect the rivers easily.Don’t spend your first few hours with Animal Crossing: New Horizons trying to make everything perfect: sooner or later you’ll be able to modify almost everything.
If you want to accumulate wealth, you’ll have to put everything you find on the island in your inventory. That will help you pay off your loan to Tom Nook and to get a bigger house, so it’s in your interest to make your inventory as big as possible. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons you can upgrade your inventory, giving you access to more storage space when you’re outdoors (it’s also worth noting that the storage space is almost unlimited, so you always have a place to keep the items you don’t want to carry around).
