How to remove license plate rivets
The license plates can be obtained in auto parts stores by presenting the vehicle documentation. They do not usually cost much, and the car is grateful for the change, since, if the plates of our vehicle are deteriorated by the passage of time they look bad, and besides we can take some sanction by the bad state of the same ones and even not to pass the ITV.
Once removed the license plate of the car and in the case that it was deformed, we would proceed to straighten it a little with a few taps of hammer, so that it can be aligned on top of the new one and thus respect the correct position.
The old license plate is removed and then, it is advisable to sand the marks so that the drill bit does not slip and then proceed to drill the new license plate using the same drill bit mentioned above, which is normally 5 mm.
If you are moving to another EU country with your car, you should know that vehicle registration is subject to specific rules depending on whether you are moving temporarily or permanently, the length of your stay and the country you are moving to.
There are no common EU rules on vehicle registration and vehicle-related taxes. Some countries have tax exemption rules for vehicle registration in case of a permanent move from one country to another.
If you move temporarily to another EU country and do not change your usual residence, you will not have to register your car in that other country and pay registration taxes there. You will be able to keep the car registered in your country of usual residence.
If you work in one place but your personal ties are in another EU country, your usual residence is usually considered to be in the EU country with which you have personal ties, as long as you return to that country regularly.
How to remove license plates
The theft of the license plates of a vehicle is more frequent than usual, and it is a way to go more unnoticed by thieves. If it has happened to you, this is what you should do to solve it.
So if your license plates have disappeared, the first thing to do is not to move the car and proceed to report the theft at a police station, Civil Guard headquarters or a Guardia Civil Court, whichever is closest to you in terms of urgency. You could even do it by telephone, with the obligation to appear to sign the report within a maximum period of 72 hours at the police station where you have received the call.
Once this is done, i.e., report and notify the insurance company, the next step is to obtain the new license plates. To do this, with your identification document and the vehicle registration certificate and the technical data sheet, you must go to a company that manufactures approved license plates so that they can make a copy of them for you, and once they are installed on your car, you can drive it normally again.
