How much to run per week
While many people are happy pedaling at a moderate speed, some other people focus on speed. Especially when we’re talking about sport cycling, in any of its forms, no matter how fast you go, you always want to go faster.
The smartest cyclists know exactly when to attack and when to save energy. It is much more efficient to time your efforts with the precision of a laboratory scientist and know the right time to apply pedal power to get the best average speed.
It is better to invest more energy in slower or harder sections than when you are already riding fast. It’s better to work hard when you’re fighting hills or facing headwinds than when you’re accelerating along a flat or downhill section.
You can do 20-minute workouts in which you pedal at a high cadence. Training exercises at a high cadence helps to maintain it efficiently for longer periods of time during a competition.
Kiran and Clare live on the same trail, 24 miles away from each other. One Saturday at 8:00 a.m., the two start walking down the trail, toward each other, with the plan to have a picnic when they meet.
When two objects are moving at constant speed and their distance-time ratios are equivalent, we say that they are moving at the same speed. If their distance-time ratios are not equivalent, they are not moving at the same speed.
Because speed is a rate per 1 unit of time of ratios relating distance and time, we can multiply the amount of time traveled by the speed to find the distance traveled.
For example, Tyler walks at a speed of 4 miles per hour (or 4 miles per hour). Priya walks at a rate of 5 miles per hour. Priya walks faster than Tyler because she walks a greater distance in the same amount of time.
For example, Diego walks at a rate of 10 minutes per mile. Elena walks at a pace of 11 minutes per mile. Elena walks slower than Diego, because it takes her longer to walk the same distance.

There was no better phrase, or at least none more representative, to begin an article about average speed in cycling. A value, speed, which is often more problematic than beneficial.
The truth is that in cycling, as in all other timed sports, speed is what ends up determining the final result. If you go faster you win, if you go slower than others, you lose. But what most people don’t know, or at least seem to ignore, is that to be the fastest in competition you don’t need to be the fastest in training.
Evidently everything has a relationship and if we train at an average of 25km/h on a similar orographic terrain to that of the competition, we can hardly expect to get an average of 32km/h on the day of the cyclotourist march or competition.
In case there are minutes left over (for example if I have cycled for 2h:35 minutes and covered 55 kms) it would be enough to convert those minutes that exceed -35 minutes-, and convert them to base 100 (0.35×100)/60 = 0.583. Therefore the time, in base 100, is 2 hours + 0.583 and we can divide the distance by the time = 55kms / 2.583 = 21.29 km/h.

Also another question I have is where should I sleep overnight when I’m on tour? I’m thinking about camping, but I don’t think I can find good places to camp on the road and I already know about couch surfing, but I want another alternative where I know I’ll be able to sleep without worrying. about it all day long.
You don’t seem to have any experience with long distance riding or bike maintenance. What kind of riding have you done so far and what kind of maintenance have you done on a bike?
Have you completed a 50 mile bike trip? What’s the farthest you’ve traveled in a day? Sounds like you are getting ahead of yourself …. I would buy a bike and do a test ride before anything else.
The bike really doesn’t matter much. You can go 500 miles carrying enough stuff to be comfortable on almost any bike, a better bike will be faster, more comfortable and more reliable. But I’ve been on a 3000 mile trip with a couple of people who rode KMart level bikes they bought second hand. By the end of the trip, the bikes were worn out, but they made it.
